The archaeological museum holds finds from Sitifis, the Roman city beneath modern Sétif, and from the wider region. The collection is particularly strong on mosaics — large floor panels from Roman villas and public buildings — as well as sculpture, coins, and everyday objects from the 1st through 5th centuries AD.
The museum is one of the best Roman collections in Algeria and should not be missed by anyone interested in the ancient history of North Africa. The Roman site of Djémila, 50 km to the west, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and pairs naturally with a museum visit; between them, they give a remarkably clear picture of Roman urban life in this part of the world.
