Ksar Draa sits out in the desert north of Timimoun, a compact fortified ruin that feels more like a watchful outpost than a village. Its round form and reddish earth walls make it one of the more photogenic ksour in the Gourara area, especially in low afternoon light.
The site is simple and isolated, so it works best with a driver or guide who can combine it with other ksour and palm-grove stops. Do not expect interpretation panels or facilities; the appeal is the silence, the geometry of the walls, and the sense of how defensive architecture once marked routes across the Sahara.
