Leukaspis, also known as Antiphrai, is a Greek-Roman archaeological site near Marina El Alamein. The remains stretch inland from the modern coast and include a settlement area, agora, basilica remains, and tomb structures.
It is a useful counterweight to the Second World War sites. El Alamein's coastline was a place of movement and settlement long before tanks crossed the desert.
