Qasr el-Ghueita is a fortified temple site south of Kharga town, dedicated to Amun, Mut, and Khonsu. Its position on a rise gives the monument a strong desert profile, and the surviving carvings make it more than just another mud-brick ruin.
It pairs naturally with Qasr el-Zayyan and the southern oasis sites. Go with a driver who knows the antiquities circuit.
