Stone House Museum

Stone House Museum is the main historical stop in Livingstonia, housed in one of the settlement's early mission buildings. Inside are photographs, documents, and objects connected with the Scottish mission, education, medicine, and colonial-era life in northern Malawi.

It is a small museum, so do not expect slick interpretation. Its strength is place: you are reading the story in the highland town where it happened, with the mission church, hospital, and escarpment all within walking distance.

A story
The house is associated with Dr Robert Laws, who led the Livingstonia Mission for decades. Its exhibits are modest, but the building makes the mission story feel local rather than abstract.
