Senegal River Waterfront

Away from the ferry landing, the bank of the Senegal River is quieter and gives you the best sense of the geography — the wide, slow river forming the border, green vegetation on both banks, and the Senegalese town visible on the far shore. Fishermen work the shallows in the early morning and late afternoon. It is a simple pleasure in a town with few of them, and a reminder that this flat agricultural landscape is a long way from the Saharan interior.
