Tamarind Waterfalls

Tamarind Waterfalls, also called Seven Cascades, is one of Mauritius's most rewarding inland nature trips. The falls drop through a green volcanic valley, with a chain of pools below some of the cascades where hikers can swim.

The paths can be muddy and confusing, and first-time visitors are better off going with a local guide. Bring shoes that can get wet and expect a rougher, quieter side of the island than the beach resorts.
