The Maison Berbere in the centre of Tineghir is reliably good for Berber crafts at prices that don't require heroic bargaining. The selection runs to hand-knotted carpets from the High Atlas, silver Berber jewellery, leather goods, and carved wooden objects. The quality is consistently higher than the tourist-market average, and the prices, while not fixed, are broadly reasonable for the quality on offer.
This is one of those shops where you can spend a useful half-hour even if you are not planning to buy anything, simply to understand the range and quality of traditional Berber craft production in this part of Morocco. The owners are knowledgeable and can explain the regional differences in carpet weaving patterns.
