Babban Goni Mosque

Babban Goni Mosque, built in 1837, is one of Bauchi's key old religious buildings. Its importance is tied to Babban Gwani, the celebrated 19th-century builder associated with major mud architecture across northern Nigeria.

The mosque is best appreciated as part of the wider palace-quarter walk rather than as a stand-alone monument. Check locally before entering, and be discreet with photography.
