D-Line

D-Line is a commercial and residential neighbourhood that acts as a busy transition zone between the quiet colonial streets of Old GRA and the high-density areas of central Port Harcourt. The name is a colonial-era designation that stuck. Today it is one of the city's most active commercial districts, with a dense mix of shops, service businesses, markets, and restaurants along its main roads.

D-Line has several hospitals and clinics that serve the wider city, as well as local markets that are considerably less overwhelming than Mile 1 but still well-stocked. Azikiwe Road, which passes through D-Line, is one of Port Harcourt's main commercial spines and is lined with shops from morning until late evening. The neighbourhood is easier to navigate on foot than much of the city centre, and the street food options — particularly grilled fish and jollof rice from the roadside stalls — are among the city's best.
