Orient Beach is the convenient central beach, close to the harbour and old beachfront. It does not have the same surf reputation as Nahoon, but it is easy to reach and gives you a quick look at East London's seaside character.
Use it for a short walk, a low-key swim when conditions are good, or as part of a wander around the beachfront. Like many urban beaches, it is best visited by day and with normal city awareness.
