Paternoster Beach

Broad village beach with fishing boats, cold Atlantic water, and long sunset walks.

Paternoster Beach curves along the front of the village, close enough that you can step from a restaurant or cottage straight onto the sand. Fishing boats still land here, and that working edge keeps the beach from feeling like a resort strip.

Swimming is for the hardy because the Benguela current keeps the water cold. Walking is the better use of the beach, especially toward sunset.
