Musira Island lies a short distance offshore from Bukoba and is accessible by local boat from the port. The island has a small fishing village and a peaceful atmosphere. It offers views back across the bay to the town and a sense of the lake's scale. Day trips are easily arranged with local boatmen at the waterfront.
