Run by the Lutheran mission as part of a working farm, the Irente Farm Lodge restaurant serves the best lunch in the Usambaras: a daily set menu of cheese platter, brown bread, fresh salad, jam, fruit, and a hot main of garden vegetables or stew, all from the farm itself.
Eat outside on the terrace with a view down the valley. There is also an honesty-shop attached selling the cheese, the bread, jam, and a particularly good plum chutney. Open for lunch only.
