Saint Peter and Paul Cathedral

The Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul is Kara's most prominent building, a large concrete church that serves as the seat of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Kara. It stands near the centre of town and is an active parish serving a substantial congregation in what is otherwise a predominantly Muslim region of Togo.

The building itself is modern and functional rather than architecturally notable, but it reflects the unusual religious geography of northern Togo, where Christianity and Islam coexist alongside traditional animist practices — often within the same family. The cathedral is open to visitors outside of services.
