Belait Beach (Pantai Belait) is a long stretch of sand at the mouth of the Belait River, popular with local families on weekends and evenings. It is not a tropical beach in the postcard sense — the sea here is murky brown from river sediment and there are no facilities to speak of — but it is a pleasant enough spot to stretch your legs and watch the fishing boats on the water.
The beach is more of a local gathering place than a tourist attraction. You will find food stalls operating in the evenings and small groups of families picnicking at sunset. It is worth a brief stop if you are in the area, particularly at dusk when the light on the river mouth can be striking.
