The Bo'ao Lighthouse stands at the northern tip of the peninsula, a 23-metre white cylindrical concrete tower rising to a focal height of 81 metres above sea level thanks to the elevated ground it occupies. Built in 2008 and operational since 2011, it marks the entrance to Bo'ao harbour and the river mouth, guiding vessels through the shallow estuarine waters. Its three-flash white sequence is visible from 35 kilometres offshore.
The lighthouse is worth approaching on foot or by bicycle as part of an exploration of the peninsula's tip. The views from the promontory nearby — the sandbar to the south, the open sea to the east, the river winding back north through mangroves — provide the clearest picture of Bo'ao's unusual geography. The lighthouse grounds are not generally open to visitors, but the exterior and the surrounding promontory make for a pleasant half-hour stop.
