Wanxianshan — "Ten-Thousand-Immortals Mountain" — is the scenic area that contains both the Guoliang Tunnel and the Baligou gorge, set on the dramatic southern edge of the Taihang range where the mountains drop abruptly to the North China Plain. The park covers a section of Taihang limestone topography at its most theatrical: deep gorges, sheer canyon walls, waterfalls, and the vertiginous high terraces on which Guoliang village is perched.
The ¥80 park entry covers access to the canyon section, the tunnel, and the shuttle bus system that connects the main sites within the park. The most efficient approach is to take the shuttle to the Guoliang Tunnel first, walk through the tunnel on foot, spend time in the village, then return via the gorge trails to the main entrance. This takes a full day done properly. Accommodation is available in Guoliang village for those who want to experience the terraces at dawn, before the day-trip crowds arrive from Xinxiang and Zhengzhou.
