The island's shopping heartland and probably the most crowded square kilometre on Hong Kong Island — Times Square, Sogo, and the pedestrian streets around Fashion Walk pull relentless weekend traffic. Beyond the malls, Causeway Bay has a strong Japanese character, a long-running tradition of cheap Cantonese restaurants, and Victoria Park (the island's largest open space, and the former site of the annual June 4th candlelight vigil).
