The financial heart of Hong Kong and the original colonial settlement, a dense vertical district of glass banking towers, the Legislative Council building, and the historic Pedder Building. By day it is all suits and lunch meetings; after 7pm most of the energy shifts uphill into SoHo and Lan Kwai Fong. Sights to combine on a walk: Statue Square, the Cenotaph, the Mid-Levels Escalator, the Fringe Club, and the harbourfront promenade at Edinburgh Place where the Star Ferry docks. Admiralty and Central MTR stations sit at either end.
