Kalika Mata Temple is the living sacred centre of Pavagadh Hill and one of Gujarat's important Shakti shrines. Pilgrims come in large numbers, especially during festival periods, and the atmosphere near the top can be intense.
For travellers, the temple is best approached respectfully and patiently. The view from the hill is magnificent, but the devotional energy is the real reason the place matters.
