The small museum at the site entrance holds finds from the Lothal excavations conducted between 1955 and 1962. The collection includes Indus Valley seals carved from steatite — used as trade stamps or identity markers — alongside carnelian and lapis lazuli beads that hint at a trade network stretching from Mesopotamia to Central Asia. Bronze tools, painted pottery, and fragments of the city's drainage system round out the display.
The exhibition is modest by the standards of larger archaeological museums, but the objects are all directly from this site, which gives them a particular immediacy. The labels are in English and Gujarati. Allow 30–45 minutes. Photography is permitted.
