National Maritime Heritage Complex

About 2 km from the main Lothal site, the National Maritime Heritage Complex is an ambitious under-construction visitor attraction intended to tell the story of India's maritime history from the Indus Valley period to the present. When complete, it will include a reconstruction of the Lothal dockyard, a lighthouse, themed pavilions on different eras of seafaring, and a maritime museum.

Construction has proceeded in phases; some sections are open to visitors while others remain active building sites. Check the current status before incorporating it into your itinerary. Even if the main complex is not fully accessible, the scale of the project and the scale-model reconstructions visible from the road give a sense of how the site will eventually be presented.
