Gauri Kund is a square stepped tank southeast of Amarthol Gate. Its stone walls are decorated with sculptural panels, and the steps create a compact version of the geometry that makes Gujarat's larger water monuments so satisfying to walk around.
The tank still has a ritual role for local families, so visit with a light touch. It pairs naturally with Pancham Mehta ni Vav and the nearby gates on a short circuit through the eastern side of the old town.
