A beach town on the Ratnagiri coast, known for its clean sands and a famous 400-year-old Ganesh temple (Swayambhu Ganapati) built into a rock at the shoreline. A popular pilgrimage destination as well as a beach resort. Ratnagiri on the Konkan Railway is the nearest railhead; Mumbai is about 375km by road.
