Silver Beach

Silver Beach is Cuddalore's main seafront, a long sandy stretch on the Bay of Bengal that draws visitors from the town and surrounding area, particularly on weekends and holidays. The beach is open and breezy, with the characteristic grey-brown sand of the Tamil Nadu coast. Fishing boats are often pulled up on the shore, giving the beach a working quality beyond pure resort atmosphere.

Swimming is possible, but the Bay of Bengal can have strong currents, particularly during and after the northeast monsoon (October to December). The beach is best appreciated at sunrise or in the late afternoon. Small food stalls along the seafront sell fried fish, corn, and snacks. It is a local beach rather than a tourist beach — there are no hotels or beach clubs — which is part of its appeal.
