Subramaniya Swamy Temple is Tiruttani's reason for being. It is counted among Murugan's six sacred abodes, and the climb up the hill is part of the visit: 365 steps rising from the town toward the shrine, with pilgrims stopping, chanting, and carrying offerings as they go.
The temple is busy rather than quiet, especially on festival days and around the New Year step festival. Dress conservatively, expect queues, and treat the place as a living shrine first and a viewpoint second.
