Soltani Mosque is Borujerd's great Qajar-period mosque, built when the city was an important market town on western Iranian routes. It is broader and more formal than the Jameh Mosque, with a large courtyard and the symmetrical confidence of 19th-century religious architecture.
It works best as a pair with the Jameh Mosque: one gives the city its early Islamic depth, the other shows how Borujerd still had money, craftsmen, and civic pride many centuries later.
