Qamsar is the fragrant side trip from Kashan, best known for golab, the rosewater distilled from Damask roses grown in the surrounding hills. In spring, especially around May, workshops and family producers turn the harvest into a small regional spectacle of petals, copper pots, and steam.
Outside the rose season, Qamsar is quieter but still useful as a cooler mountain-town break from Kashan's desert heat. It is not a monument in the usual sense; the reason to go is to connect a famous Iranian ingredient with the place and people that produce it.
