Valiye Asr Zurkhaneh is a good place to see Iran's traditional zurkhaneh exercises, a ritualised mix of strength training, music, poetry, and old ideas of chivalry. It is less a spectator show than a local cultural practice, which is exactly why it can be memorable if you catch a session.
