Fukui City History Museum gives useful context for a city that has been rebuilt more than once. The displays cover early settlement, the castle-town period, wartime destruction, and the modern city that grew around the station and castle grounds.
It works best with Yokokan Garden, which is just nearby and often sold with a combined ticket.
