Futamata Castle Ruins

Futamata Castle Ruins are a quiet but historically loaded site north of central Hamamatsu. The castle was fought over in the 16th century by forces tied to Tokugawa Ieyasu and Takeda Shingen.

Only the stone walls remain, set in a pleasant park. The visit is best for travellers who like castle ruins and the rough edges of Sengoku-period history.
