Hamamatsu Festival Hall

Hamamatsu Festival Hall explains the city's famous kite festival through displays of huge kites, festival clothing, lanterns, and banners. Videos show how the kites are made and flown, making the museum useful even if your visit does not coincide with the May festival.

The hall is close to Nakatajima Sand Dunes, so the two make a natural pair on the south side of the city. It is a good year-round introduction to one of Hamamatsu's strongest local traditions.
