Nakatajima Sand Dunes are the easiest way to feel Hamamatsu's Pacific edge. The dunes run between the city and the sea, with enough space and wind to feel far from the traffic behind you.
They are best for walking, photography, and a picnic rather than swimming, since the surf can have a strong undertow. Go late in the day if you want softer light over the sand.
