Little World is an open-air anthropological museum and amusement park a few kilometres east of Inuyama, focused on the daily life and material culture of peoples around the world. The outdoor zone features full-scale reconstructed buildings from approximately 20 countries — a Tanzanian village, a traditional German house, a French farmhouse, and an Ainu dwelling from Hokkaido, among many others. Costumed staff demonstrate traditional crafts and food.
The indoor museum section houses an extensive collection of clothing, tools, jewellery, and everyday objects from across Africa, Asia, the Americas, and Oceania. The depth of the ethnographic collection is genuinely impressive — this is not a superficial tourist attraction but a serious museum that happens to also be fun. Children do particularly well here, and the combination of walking through life-sized environments and then seeing the artefacts that filled them makes for an unusual and effective educational experience. Allow at least half a day.
