The Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum is Katsuyama's must-see attraction. Its displays cover dinosaurs found in Fukui, including Fukuiraptor and Fukuisaurus, alongside large skeletons, fossil exhibits, and clear family-friendly interpretation.
The museum sits in a park outside the centre, so allow time for the trip there and back. For many visitors it is the whole reason to put Katsuyama on the route.
