Kozenji is the best cultural stop in Komagane, a Buddhist temple set among tall trees west of town. The approach, stonework, and mossy grounds give it a stillness that contrasts nicely with the ropeway crowds.
It is easy to combine with Komagane Kogen, and it makes a good bad-weather option when the mountains are hidden.
