The Hii Stone Gates are two sea-eroded rock arches near Cape Irago, one offshore and one closer to the coast. They are not enormous, but the black rock, white water, and open Pacific horizon make them one of the peninsula's strongest natural sights.
The name is often linked with sunrise, and early light is the most atmospheric time to come. Wear decent shoes if you leave the easy paths; the shore can be uneven and slippery after spray or rain.
