Irago Misaki Lighthouse

White 1929 lighthouse marking the wave-beaten tip of the Atsumi Peninsula.

Irago Misaki Lighthouse is Tahara's cleanest symbol: a small white tower standing where the Atsumi Peninsula runs out into the meeting of the Pacific, Mikawa Bay, and Ise Bay. It was built in 1929 to guide coastal shipping, and the setting matters as much as the structure.

Come for the walk along the cape rather than for a big museum experience. The lighthouse pairs naturally with Koijigahama Beach and the Hii Stone Gates, making this the one part of Tahara that feels clearly worth the trip.
