Koijigahama is the sandy curve that softens Cape Irago's rocky edge. The beach runs for about a kilometre near the lighthouse and has the sort of broad Pacific view that explains why people make the long run down the peninsula.
Swimming is not the main point here. It is better as a walking beach: lighthouse at one end, wave-cut stone at the other, and fishing boats and ferries moving through the water beyond the cape.
