Meiji Park is a quiet city park made memorable by three red-brick dairy silos from the 1930s. They look almost theatrical against Nemuro's low skyline, and they point to the dairy industry that grew alongside fishing in this corner of Hokkaido.
It is not a reason to travel to Nemuro by itself, but it is worth folding into a town walk before or after the peninsula. In a city with few grand buildings, the silos have become a useful local landmark.
