Obihiro Shrine is a calm stop among trees east of the city centre. The grounds are at their best when you want a simple walk, a bit of shade, and a break from the grid of central Obihiro.
It is not a reason to come to the city by itself. Combined with the racecourse, parks, and food, it rounds out a day that feels rooted in Tokachi rather than generic urban Hokkaido.
