Kushimoto Marine Park gives non-divers a way to see the warm-water life that makes this coast unusual. The underwater observatory and glass-bottom boats look into waters associated with Kushimoto's protected coral communities, among the northernmost significant coral habitats in Japan.
Divers will want to look beyond the park to local operators, but the marine park is the easiest introduction if you are travelling without gear or with children.
