Motoori Norinaga Memorial Museum

Motoori Norinaga was one of the great scholars of Japanese classical literature, and Matsusaka was his home. The memorial museum near the castle displays manuscripts, books, personal objects, and context for his work on the Kojiki and ancient Japanese texts.

The museum is best for travellers with an interest in literature, history, or intellectual Japan. Even a short visit helps explain why Matsusaka's old town is not just a castle-and-beef stop.
