Itakiso Jinja Shrine is dedicated to Itakeru no Mikoto, a deity associated in the Nihon Shoki with planting trees across Japan. The shrine is a quiet cultural stop outside central Wakayama, especially for visitors interested in Shinto sites beyond the castle and city centre.
