Yoro Falls is the older half of Yoro's appeal. The waterfall drops through forest above the park and is counted among Japan's well-known falls, but the local legend is what gives it flavour: the water was said to have turned into sake for a poor man caring for his father.
The walk up is part of the visit, especially in autumn when the maples turn. It pairs naturally with Yoro Shrine and the lower park, so do not treat the falls as only a quick photo stop.
