Komezuka is a small volcanic cone on the grasslands of Aso. It rises about 80 meters and has an almost symmetrical bowl shape, making it one of the easiest landmarks to pick out while travelling across the caldera.
The cone erupted roughly 3,000 years ago. Climbing is not allowed, but it is worth a stop for the view, especially when the slopes are green.
