Kannongaike Pond Civic Forest is the town's easiest nature stop, with paths around the pond and wooded slopes above it. In spring it becomes a local cherry-blossom spot, with roughly a thousand trees turning the park into a pink ring around the water.
Outside blossom season it is quieter, useful as a short walk if you are driving between Ichiki, Kushikino, and the mine area.
