Hiji Falls

Hiji Falls is one of northern Okinawa's best short hikes. The trail starts from a visitor centre and takes about 45 minutes each way, following forest and river before crossing a suspension bridge and reaching the waterfall.

The walk is the main reason to come: it gives a manageable taste of the Yambaru forest without needing a long trek. Wear shoes with grip, especially after rain, and allow enough time to return before the trail closes.
