Hiketa Castle

Hiketa Castle was built as part of the defensive network around eastern Sanuki, balancing the better-known castles at Takamatsu and Marugame. The castle was abandoned after the early Edo-period one-castle policy, so this is more a ruins-and-history stop than a grand keep.

Come for the setting and the local story, then continue into Hiketa's old townscape for the more atmospheric walk.
